I MISS MY DORM
Don't get me wrong
when I say this but I miss living on campus. I have lived off campus for the
first time this semester and I love not having a stranger on the other side of
the wall or hearing people screaming in the hallway when I am trying to sleep. I
really like not having to worry about parking. There are lots of other things
that I love about living in a house but I miss some of campus life as well.
1. Being close with
ALL my friends- I live in a house this year with my two best friends. However,
I miss walking down the hall and seeing all my other friends. If I had a
question about homework, I would usually knock on someones door that is in my
class. Now that I live off campus, I have to text them and explain the question
through the phone. Also, when I lived in the Delta Zeta house I would be able
to knock on different sisters doors and be able to chat with them. Now, I don't
see them as much.
2. Food options- YES,
I AM SAYING I MISS MAC! Before, I had swipes and points and didn't have to ever
cook for myself. Now, I have to go grocery shopping ALL THE TIME and cook my
own meals. I miss the convenience of not having to spend money on the spot to
get food. I also miss going to WOW at night and getting the late night swipes.
More than anything, I miss Cosi. I loved their salads. Now, that I have to pay
REAL money, I have decided it is way too expensive for me.
3. Being close to
everything- I used to always study at the library because it was convenient to
walk their from my dorm. Now, I hardly ever go to the library because I would
have to drive there. Also, I am not close to my classes. If I would walk, I
would have to leave my house 15 minutes earlier than I do now. So that means in
order to walk to class, I would have to wake up 15 minutes earlier which I do
not see happening.
4. Late night walks- I
used to go on walks all the time when I lived on campus. I felt safer when I
was in-between dorms and students were also walking to their dorms. Now, I will
not be going on any late night walks. Not being on campus makes it a little
more scary walking in the dark by yourself.
I used to live on the school dorm when I was in high school. I was sharing a room with my best friend. I miss this confortable condition because I am now living alone in an apartment. When I was living in the dorm, I always had opportunity to talk and to share experiences with my friends. I miss that time, but at the same time, I think changing condition is an importnat thing to grow myself. I am loving my current condition.
ReplyDeleteI miss the dorm life as well! I loved having being able to go a friend room to hangout anytime of the day. I even have it worse with having to drive 35 minutes to hang out with friends. It saves you a lot of money to live off campus even though it is more work, plus like you said its nice to having the constant kids yelling in the hall. I would go back if I could, but I also love the house life and saving money helps to for a future.
