Thanks For The Support!
A couple posts ago I wrote about being happy for 365 days. I told you guys about how I wrote a letter to my close friends and family. I was overwhelmed with the response I got. I had so many people wear the ribbons that I gave them. Also, my friends and family took picture of themselves wearing the ribbons and sent it to me.I decided that I was going to write a status on Facebook to not just thank everyone for wearing the ribbons but to tell other people about my story. This is what I wrote;
"1 year ago
today I attempted to take my own life. Thankfully, I failed in the attempt.
When I think about my life then I can’t help but cringe. I had lost myself. My
life now is so much different. I am so thankful to be on this earth and live
everyday to the fullest. I can’t express how much support I have had in the
last year. I wouldn’t be who I am today without my friends and family.
I asked some of my friends to wear a teal and
purple ribbon today to represent suicide awareness. I asked them to not only wear
this for me but for everyone that has considered or attempted suicide in the
past. I am overwhelmed by the pictures I got today of them wearing the ribbon.
I can’t believe how far I have come in the last
year.
If anyone ever needs to or wants to talk I am
always here to listen. I know exactly what you are going through.
Here is to many more years of happiness"
I want to thank everyone again for wearing the
ribbons and for commenting on my status with encouraging notes. I would not be
the person I am today without all of you.
