THANKSGIVING
Happy Thanksgiving!
Well, not just yet...
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite
times of the year! There are so many great components of an awesome
Thanksgiving!
1. Pie- As a family we have a pie
party. This is a Saturday that we get together as a family and bake tons of
pies for Thanksgiving. I was in charge of the peanut butter cup pie. I made
five of these pies and I made each one a little different then the other. One,
I made with cinnamon because I read the recipe wrong. Another, I baked the
crust when it clearly said NO BAKE PIE. I definitely was not the only one that
screwed up. My soon to be brother-in-law accidentally spilled a whole pecan pie
on the bottom of the oven. Overall, I have a good feeling that we are not
having the pie party again next year.
2. Family- Ohio Northern gives us a
whole week to be out of school and enjoy time with our family. I have not been
home in about a month so it has been really nice to be home and just chill out
for a little bit. I am definitely loving being home and not having any
responsibilities. I have a little bit of homework but I don't feel as stressed
about it because I have the whole week to do it. Also, its been very nice to
see my family. It is weird not seeing them as much as I used to when I was
younger.
3. Food, again- At school I usually
do not have a lot of money to eat good food. At home, my parents have good
food. Not only are we going to be have a huge meal on Thanksgiving but we also
go out to dinner at my favorite places at home. My dad actually made a homemade
chicken noodle soup (which is my favorite). It was so good and reminded me how
nice it is to be a kid instead of an adult.
4. Shopping- I like to go shopping
for Black Friday (Although, it is starting to seem like it is Black Thursday).
I like to go to stores like Old Navy, Target and Dicks to find good deals on
clothes and shoes. I hate to go out on Black Friday just because it is so crazy
with people running around and trying to find the best deals but I feel like it
is worth it when I come out of the store with tons of clothes for not so much
money.
I hope this break lasts forever too. I like Thanksgiving foods, and I like to enjoy time with my family. If I add the fifth component, it would be the parade. I usually watch the Macy's parade on Thanksgiving day with my family.
