Socially Famous

When you get on social media you may see ordinary people with many likes, retweets, and favorites. These people haven't been in a movie or produced the next big song. These people are normal people just like you and I but they are slowly rising to fame. I am going to list just a few people that went from being an average person to famous in a short period of time all due to social media.

1. Chiara Ferragni

Chiara is a law student from Italy. She has a popular blog and Instagram. They are called “The Blond Salad”. In 2009 she started a fashion blog where she posts about fashion, photography, travel, and her personal lifestyle. Daily, she receives over 100,000 hits on her site. She now has partnerships with many fashion brands and is expected to make eight million dollars this year.

2. Jessica Vazquez

Vazquez is from the United States. Her rise to fame came from Vine. She has an account called “Jessi Smiles”. For each vine she posted, she got an estimated 35 thousand dollars. Imagine getting paid that much to post a six second video!

3. German Alejandro Garmendia Aranis

German made a YouTube channel only two years ago but he is already making millions! He has over 24,000,000 followers. He is only 25 years old but he is making over 1.2 million dollars a year. His YouTube is the second most subscribed channel on the site.

4. Alex Lee

Alex from Target, who could forget him? One picture made him famous. He has over 200,000 followers because a girl thought he was cute and took a picture of him working. He was even on “The Ellen Show” because of the picture. He is not rich yet but he is getting more famous each and every day.

5. Jenna Mourey

You probably don't recognize her real name because her name on YouTube is Jenna Marbles! Jenna was working as a waitress back in 2010 when she decided to start making funny YouTube videos. Her net worth is 2.5 million dollars now. I bet she is glad she decided to make that first video!
