Family First
My family is extremely close. Growing up I did not realize how
close we were until I went to college. Not having my family here has been hard
but we still talk everyday. I can not express how much they mean to me.
My parents, Scott and Vicki, have been married for almost 30 years now. They love each other as much as they loved each other the day they got married. I can't express how lucky I am to have these two.
My father has been my forever coach, not just with sports but in life. He has taught me so much on and off the field. He's taught me that things happen that we can't control and we need to roll with it. He truly is my best friend. Every time I am homesick I can call my dad and know everything is going to be okay. Overall, my dad has always put his family first and I know our whole family can not thank him enough for that.
My mother- she is my soulmate. In this crazy world I truly believe that she understands me the most. I know that with just one look she knows exactly what I am thinking in that moment. Also, she can make my dad do anything, including giving me money when she knows I don't actually need it. I can always count on my mom to have my back.
My oldest sister, Erica, is my biggest supporter. Whatever I do, I can count Erica to be there cheering me on. She goes above and beyond to make sure I am happy. I know that if ever needed help with anything, including homework, she would be there for me. She has such busy life with being a teacher and coach but still makes time to call me everyday. Her fiance, Adam, is always right there with her helping me through life. I owe these two so much.
My older sister, Ashly, is my sister in more ways than one. Ashly and I have always had a special connection with but that connection grew when I joined the same sorority she was in, Delta Zeta. Now, we have something that will forever bond us. I can't tell you how much she has inspired me to be a better person. She's so kind and loving. She truly brings out the best in me. It's hard not to smile when you are around her.
I could go on and on about my grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles but I will save that for a different blog. I guess what I am trying to say here is that these people are my favorite people in the world. I will be forever grateful for them.

I'm very close with my family also. Moving away and becoming independent of everyone who was so much to you when you were younger really makes you open your eyes and see things more clearly. As like you my parents have been together for 29 years and counting, which in todays world is a rare thing to say. I only had the pleasure of having one sisters, but she taught me everything I know, good and bad. The last thing I'm going to say is, growing up sucks.
