Final Thoughts About The Art
The last couple weeks I have been reviewing the
book, “The Art of Social Media” by Guy Kawasaki and Peg Fitzpatrick.
I have told you many things about the book; how
to avoid looking clueless, how to make the perfect post and how to make people
read your posts.
Now, I am going to finish the book up and tell
you their final thoughts.
The conclusion page is only a page and half but
it really wraps up the whole book.
The final 2 pages leaves us with a simple code
of personal conduct;
1. Be impeccable with your word- I think this
mean to speak with integrity and say only what you mean. Impeccable is defined
as flawless, I don't know about you guys but I am far from that. Your word is
powerful. You need to represent yourself with truth and love.
2. Don't take anything personal- Easier said
said than done, right? By this they mean you shouldn't worry what others say or
think about you. As long as you are living your best life, then nothing else
matters. It's really hard to not take things personal but people sometimes say
stuff before thinking.
3. Always do your best- Never give half effort.
You never know who is going to read your posts. Don't do something that you are
going to regret later. So, go out and run the world.
4. Be skeptical but learn to listen- Listen to
yourself and what others have to say. Really listen to someone and you might
learn something new. However, take advice with a grain of salt and do what you
think is best.
Guy and Peg say that the best advice they have
is social media is changing everyday but that if you listen to the code of
personal conduct that you should be fine
They leave us with this final sentence,
"We've done our best to help you master the art and science of social
media, and now we want you to go out and rock the world. Are you guys
ready to rock social media with me?
